We’re Looking for Writers!
We’re looking for college and high school students, and industry professionals, to write articles for The Doo Dah Daily, a monthly zine our business will publish digitally starting in September 2025. We offer a standard fee for each article we publish, and we’ll give a T-shirt or a company memento for articles we aren’t able to use.
The Doo Dah Daily is an ongoing conversation among young adults. We’re hoping to work with a group of journalists to make arguments for or against contentious issues, perhaps occasionally through a liberal or conservative lens, with the goal of ironing out the facts, articulating the truth, limiting or eliminating bias and/or prejudice, and to creatively build patience, character, tolerance, and understanding in future generations of Americans. Much like the importance of a free press, a healthy future for all young adults requires a productive debate in every medium possible.
Our inaugural September zine will discuss Earth Day, recycling, and the considerable contributions of immigrant workers to our economy and the communities they live in. Product circularity, particularly in the apparel and textile industries, will be a cornerstone of the conversation.
The Daily is an effort to communicate directly with our targeted demographic, young adults age 16 to 30, about important societal issues, such as developing a circular economy, while introducing them to our company and products along the way.
The Daily will generate revenue by selling each digital publication for $2.00, and annual subscriptions for $10. Journalism departments, universities, sustainable apparel brands, and businesses contributing to a circular economy will be able to purchase advertising space. We plan to print small batches of the zine to distribute on college and high school campuses at no charge.
Doo Dah Apparel is a circular apparel and accessory business located in Pasadena, California. Our writers include recent graduates of Pepperdine University and St. John’s College located in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and industry experts in both footwear and apparel.
If you or someone you know might be interested in contributing to our zine, please send an email to brettbridgman@doodahapparel.com, or give us a call at (626) 831-7832, to learn more about the opportunity.
Have a wonderful day!
